Ramsbury Silver Band origins date
back to 1900 when founder, Thomas Hobbs formed, formed the Ramsbury
Methodist Band who came together to play hymns for Methodist Church
services. Over the years, the Band continued to thrive, surviving
both world wars when many players were called away to join the forces.
During the 1970s, the Band moved away from the church and changed
its name to Ramsbury Silver Band.

for many of the region's finest musicians. Some have moved on but
many have stayed to pass on their talents through the Band's long-established
